---- — I'm giving the power to the people this week.
Here are some comments from coaches and players which -- for one reason or another -- hadn't been seen in print.
"She's a very good defensive player, though I don't like to have her there all the time because I like to have her talent and vision in the midfield."
-- Danville girls coach Tom Craig on defender Casey Reber, who saved a goal with a header off the line in a 0-0 tie with Selinsgrove
"Jenna (Fisher)'s ball was perfect; it couldn't have been any better. And luckily, the timing for onsides was good, too."
-- Selinsgrove forward Meagan Heddings on Fisher's through ball, which led to a Heddings goal in the Seals' 4-0 win over Milton
"Playing on the turf was really tough; it wore us out."
-- Danville boys coach Brian Dressler on his team's play against Midd-West following a loss to Williamsport (on the turf at Balls Mills) the night before
"We'll be in every game. If we get a break, get a shot, or a goal, we should be able to get through (and make the playoffs)
-- Mifflinburg boys coach Dan Gehers following a 1-0 loss to Selinsgrove
I think we could go every night and win; every night we could lose."
-- Gehers, talking about his team's remaining HAC-I schedule
"We defended when we really, really had to. And I have to be pleased with that; it's a step in the right direction. We're focused on getting these guys to believe in themselves."
-- Midd-West boys coach Chris Sauer after his team's 0-0 tie with Danville
She's a physical presence; she's tough to shake off the ball. We needed to slow (Danville) down."
-- Lewisburg girls coach Jose Vega on moving Emily Cole to the midfield against Danville
"We've been working on getting the ball to the outside a lot more to open up defenses. ... It worked today."
-- Vega after his team's 3-0 win over Milton
"(Brianna Brancato) and (Korrin) Hackenberg from Danville will be the all-state girls from our league -- definitely."
-- Milton girls coach Max Campbell after the Black Panthers' loss to Selinsgrove
"Every team is a battle, I told the girls, 'These guys are spoilers; they'll spoil your season.'"
-- Craig on preparing to play a one-win Lewisburg team. Danville won 3-2
"In the beginning, we were trying to trap a lot of balls in the back and not necessarily run through and get them up and out. In the second half, the girls did a much better job of clearing it with their heads and getting it down to their body and getting it out quicker. We also started to get the ball a little more up the outside."
-- Selinsgrove girls coach Matt Metzger after his team's 4-0 win over Milton
"I think maybe we could have found the back post a little bit more. One thing we probably didn't do too well was find the keeper."
-- Lewisburg boys coach Shawn Callender after a 0-0 tie with Mifflinburg
