SELINSGROVE — AmeriCorps in partnership with the Community Action Agency is offering the VITA-volunteer income tax assistance program. Volunteers are needed to help assist working families with preparing their tax returns and rent rebates. Many families can, but currently do not, benefit from tax credits. VITA is a program to help taxpayers complete, without cost, their income tax forms and get the credits they are eligible for. Volunteers will participate in a group training session that covers the basics of the program and the online tax preparation process. Volunteers will be scheduled for tax help sessions starting in mid January until the beginning of April. If you are interested in volunteering you can join the program at any time. Contact Laura La Grave, AmeriCorps member, at the Community Action Agency, 374-0181 ext.147 for more information.
