My unique talents or hobbies: Have been playing softball since I was 5, field hockey since seventh grade. I like to fish, camp and hang out with friends.
Among the leadership positions I have held: President of health professions and related sciences 114 program; vice president, Health Occupations Students of America; captain, Mifflinburg field hockey team 2012-2013.
Among my special achievements and awards: Lewisburg Sunrise Rotary student of the month in October; player of the year for field hockey, Milton Standard Journal; May court, sophomore year; homecoming court, sophomore and senior year; intern program at Evangelical Community Hospital; Young Women’s Future Symposium.
How I have given back to the community: Volunteer for Kelsey’s Dream.
My plans upon graduation: I plan on going to college for nursing and possibly play field hockey at the next level.
Why she was selected as a Young American: “Nicole is very deserving of the Young American award,” says Robin Harvey, health professions and related sciences instructor. “She not only shows great empathy and compassion toward her residents, but also exhibits the teamwork and leadership skills needed to become a professional nurse.”
