MIDDLEBURG — On Feb. 23, Midd-West Middle School seventh grade students traveled to Susquehanna University to compete in the Regional PA Jr. Academy of Science Competition. Four Midd-West Middle School students earned first place honors and pins on the regional level with the titles of their respective projects: Nicole Piccioni, “Which Gender is Meaner?”; Maryann Moyer, “Keeping Oranges Fresh; Jordan Reade, “A RUST-astick Experiment”; and Mariah Stuck, “One or Two-Hands on a Hockey Stick?”. Maryann Moyer was also awarded a plaque for having the presentation with the highest score in the Jr. High Physical Science Division. All four first place students will advance to the State PA Jr. Academy of Science Competition in May at Penn State University.
A second place pin and certificate was awarded to Nakia Bowersox with her project titled “What Makes People Sneeze?”.
