LEWISBURG — The Union County Chapter of PASR (Pennsylvania Association of School Retirees) is sponsoring the Annual Mitten Tree at the Public Library for Union County. Items received through the Mitten Tree Project will be sorted and distributed to needy children through the Eastern and Western Union County Food Banks.
Mittens, scarves, hats, or gently used or new books or small toys may be left at any of the Public Library for Union County buildings or at any of the schools in the Mifflinburg or Lewisburg Area school districts until Dec. 11.
Last year, the generous residents of Union County contributed enough to serve all of the needy children in the county whose parents participate in the food bank programs.
