HARRISBURG — Officials from the American Red Cross were happy to accept a $14,196.62 donation from First National Bank in time to help thousands during times of disaster. “Our relationship with First National is crucial to being able to continue the work of the Red Cross; it is a team effort between our valued donors, our irreplaceable volunteers, and our staff who enable us to be ever ready, ever prepared to serve the American public in times of disaster. We are truly grateful,” said Valerie Whyman, donor relations officer for the American Red Cross. She also noted that First National has partnered with the Red Cross before, allowing each of their branch offices to be pick up stations for the Holiday Mail for Heroes campaign, gathering thousands of holiday greeting cards to be sent to men and women serving in the military. In this instance, bank employees donated money that was then matched by the bank.
