MIDDLEBURG — On Nov. 30, Daughters of Union Veterans of the Civil War, 1861-1865, met at the Snyder County Historical Society in Middleburg.
The featured speaker was Jessica Charles, of Lewisburg. She spoke to the group about the significance of the blue and gold stars that hung in the windows during World War II and the gold star siblings and mothers groups that have formed recently, of which she and her mother are members. She also spoke about her brother, Josh, who lost his life while fighting in Afghanistan.
