LEWISBURG — Applications are being accepted for plot rentals in the Lewisburg Community Garden. Multiple plot sizes are available for a flat fee of $20 for the season.
The garden is located at the corner of Water Street and St. Anthony Street in Lewisburg. It was created last year as a group effort by the Borough of Lewisburg and Bucknell’s Office of Civic Engagement.
Half of the 12,000 square foot garden is dedicated to 22 plots for individuals, families or groups interested in gardening. The other half of the space is a larger plot where volunteers will grow produce to supplement local meal programs, including Community Harvest in Milton.
Interested participants may pick up an application at any of the following locations: Bucknell University’s Office of Civic Engagement, Lewisburg Public Library, The Campus Theatre, CommUnity Zone, Cole’s Hardware-Lewisburg, and the Lewisburg Borough Office.
Volunteering opportunities also are available. For more information, contact Stacey Sommerfield, assistant director of service learning at Bucknell, at 577-3928 or sns004@bucknell.edu
