WILLIAMSPORT — The Lycoming County SPCA is hosting its fourth-annual Pins For Paws — Bowl for the Animals from 2 to 4 p.m. May 5 at Faxon Lanes, 1225 River Ave., Williamsport. The money raised from this event will be used to provide care for the over 4,000 homeless and abused domestic animals the shelter serves every year. Participants who raise additional pledges beyond their registration fee for the event will be eligible to win door prizes and other gifts compliments of various local businesses.
According to John Hettinger, SPCA director of development, Faxon Lanes has graciously provided the SPCA with their famous Pizza Pins & Pop Bowling Party at a reduced rate for the event and is providing door prizes for the bowlers to win during the Bowl-A-Thon.
To help estimate the number of participants, the SPCA is suggesting that all participants pre-register for the event. However, registrations will be accepted at the event. For those participants who wish to register on the day of the event, there is a minimum sponsorship/registration amount of $15 to participate in the event. This minimum amount covers the cost of the Pizza Pins & Pop Party during the event. Participants can save $5 by submitting their registration form in advance and the minimum cost is only $10. The deadline for pre-registrations is April 30.
Additional information, including registration and sponsor forms may be obtained at the SPCA’s 2805 Reach Road, Williamsport shelter or by logging on to the SPCA website at www.lycomingspca.org.
To help raise funds for the care of the homeless and abused animals in our service area and to be eligible for prizes, additional sponsorship donations are suggested and may be given to the SPCA on the day of the event.
