WILLIAMSPORT — Quality leaders improve the workforce, and Pennsylvania College of Technology is offering a noncredit Team Leader/Supervisor Program for new or prospective leaders beginning in February.
Sessions for the affordable training program, presented by Workforce Development & Continuing Education at Penn College, will be held at the Center for Business & Workforce Development on the college’s main campus in Williamsport.
This program is offered in four series and serves as a foundation for new leaders while providing existing leaders with an opportunity to update their skills. The second series consists of four half-day sessions running from 9 a.m. to noon. The cost for the four sessions is $595.
The series need not be taken in any particular sequence. The instructor, Eric Bergstrom, is an experienced leader of organization development, human resource management and manufacturing/operations management. He brings more than 20 years of industry experience to the program. Bergstrom holds a doctorate in workforce education and development from The Pennsylvania State University.
The individual sessions for the Team Leader/Supervisor Program-Series II include Creating a Continuous Improvement Environment (Feb. 21), Building a Culture of Engagement & Empowerment (Feb. 28), Creating a High Performance Work Team (March 7), and Leading Through Conflicts in the Workplace (March 14).
Participants may choose to continue their training with the remaining three series, which are offered during the summer, fall and spring.
