DANVILLE — Betty Ann Moyer can add another title to her accomplishments.
The Borough Council member and president of the Pennsylvania State Association of Boroughs has been appointed to the Pennsylvania Local Government Investment Trust board.
After she informed council members Tuesday night of her appointment, council President Dick Johns said, “We are proud of all you do.”
The Pennsylvania Local Government Investment Trust board was created in 1981 to meet short-term investment needs of local government such as municipal authorities and other types of governments.
It has more than 2,800 public entity investors across the state.
Moyer was nominated to the board by Chris Cap, executive vice president of the state boroughs association.
She was recently notified she was appointed to a vacant board seat.
Cap said Moyer’s commitment to fiduciary responsibility and efficient financial operations “will be an asset to PLGIT and the municipalities that belong to this exceptional intergovernmental organization protecting local taxpayer funds.”
Moyer’s first meeting with the board will be Feb. 7 and 8 in Hershey.
She said there will also be representatives from the Pennsylvania School Board Association, county commissioners association, townships association, League of Cities Association and the state boroughs association.
The PLGIT board is also scheduled to meet May 16 and 17, Aug. 8 and 9 and Nov. 7 and 8. Moyer will serve as president of the state boroughs association through the May conference in Hershey.
It is scheduled for May 5-8.
Salty Ferguson, of Columbia County, who played women’s baseball during World War II, will be a speaker at the May conference where Kathy DePuy, who lives near Pittsburgh, will be sworn into office as the new president.
