SELINSGROVE -- The Friends of the Selinsgrove Library’s ninth Annual Tree Fest of Children’s Books held at newly-renovated Rudy Gelnett Memorial Library in December had another successful year. From left are representatives from Middleburg Elementary School — Lisa Decker, Lisa Ferster, Danelle Snook and Trudi Reitz. The judges were Gary and Marie Grossman. Gary Grossman is publisher of “The Daily Item”. Judges’ Choice Tree was Middleburg Elementary kindergarten with “Aliens Love Underpants” by Claire Freeman. The group also won first place in the popular vote. Judges’ Choice Wreath was Northumberland Christian School fourth grade’s “The Hundred Dresses” by Eleanor Estes. Other popular vote winners were: second place tree — Agapeland Preschool with “Grand Old Flag” edited by B. Schwaeber and B. Nussbaum, and Favorite Wreath — Selinsgrove Area Intermediate School third grade Class (Mrs. McEvoy) with “Pout Pout Fish” by Deborah Diesen.
