The Columbia County Bicentennial Committee is looking for World War II veterans.
With a World War II M3A1 Stuart Tank, built in Berwick in 1942 being driven in the Bicentennial Parade, the Columbia County Bicentennial Committee is inviting any World War II veterans who can attend to participate in this event.
Participating World War II veterans will be provided with a ride in the parade following the Stuart Tank.
The parade will assemble at the Bloomsburg Hospital parking lot beginning at 1 p.m. March 23. The parade will move forward at 2 p.m. The parade proceeds through downtown Bloomsburg to the Arts and Crafts Building at the Bloomsburg Fairgrounds.
The Stuart Tank will be on display at the fairgrounds following the parade. Various exhibits highlighting the history of Columbia County will be on display in the Arts & Crafts Building from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m.
All World War II veterans must register with the Columbia County Bicentennial Committee to be assured of a ride in the parade, by contacting Leslie Chyko, 387-3464 or lchyko@firstcolumbiabank.com, or Melissa Eckroth, 389-5608 or meckroth@columbiapa.org.
