SELINSGROVE — The Snyder County Conservation District will hold its annual banquet at 6:30 p.m. March 15 at Christ Community United Methodist Church, 3939 Park Road near Selinsgrove. Traditionally, many individuals, organizations and FFA members are honored for their efforts toward conservation.
This year’s guest speaker will be Stephen Runkle, a retired DEP hydraulic engineer. Runkle will present an in-depth study of Native Americans and their life in the Susquehanna River Basin Region during the 17th and 18th Centuries. The presentation comprises a detailed analysis of area Native American occupations including hunting and fishing techniques, warfare, government, social structure, religion, medicine, amusements and recreation.
Tickets may be purchased from directors and associate directors of the Conservation District Board. Tickets may also be purchased at the Conservation District office during regular work hours. Ticket prices are as follows: adults are $12.50, children ages 5 to 10 are $7.50 and children under 5 are free. Tickets must be purchased by March 8.
