SELINSGROVE — The “Valentines for Veterans” program gets local on Feb. 9, at the Gelnett Memorial Library, Pine and High streets, Selinsgrove, from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., in the Children’s Room on the first floor. School-aged children, accompanied by a parent or other adult, are invited to make valentines, which will be sent to local veterans. The adults are invited to make a valentine too.
The Snyder County Arts Council and the Gelnett Memorial Library are co-sponsors of this workshop. They will provide fun materials and assistance for Valentine making. There is no charge. Call Denise Moy at 374-5193 or email her at ms.denise.moy@gmail.com for more information about the workshop, or about the Snyder County Arts Council.
VFW Post 6631 provided the Arts Council with names and APO addresses of three local men in active duty overseas. Retired veterans in our area will also receive valentines.
