As a new year brings a joyful new outlook, those at Make-A-Wish® believe wishes do the same for children living with life-threatening medical conditions. For nearly 30 years, they have had countless children and parents tell them about the positive impact of their wishes.
More than just a nice experience, a wish allows kids to take control, to feel normal and to live in a joyful moment that’s all about them — instead of doctor visits, treatments and medicine.
The most common misconception about Make-A-Wish is that they only provide wishes for dying children. On the contrary, Make-A-Wish grants wishes to children living with life-threatening medical conditions. They believe that a wish is an experience that fills children and their families with a feeling of hope and invigorates them with a joy for living.
Anyone can contact Make-A-Wish® to learn about how to refer a child. Eligibility is determined by the child’s doctor.
If you know of a child, age 2½ to under 18, who may qualify, call (800) 676-9474.
