TIES students bring holiday cheer to residents of local healthcare center

MILTON — A group of students from the Central Susquehanna Intermediate Unit (CSIU) TIES II (Teens in Innovative Educational Structures) afterschool programs at Milton Area brought some holiday spirit to the halls of a local healthcare center.

As they traveled the hallways of Kramm Healthcare in Milton, middle school students sang popular tunes such as “Oh, Christmas Tree” and “Jingle Bells,” and handed out decorative door hangers.

During the first week of the “Christmas Caroling” afterschool program, the students practiced their songs and made the decorations. The advisor for the program was Lynn Maynard.

TIES II afterschool and summer programming provides individualized academic support, career exploration and service learning experiences that are not available during the regular school day. Programs are available for students in grades 3 to 12 who reside in the Milton Area School District.

A 21st Century Community Learning Center grant program funded by the Pennsylvania Department of Education, TIES II is administered by the Central Susquehanna Intermediate Unit.
