LEWISBURG -- John Letteer, right, president of the Union County Chapter of the Pennsylvania Association of School Retirees (PASR), presented the state organization’s Outstanding Media Recognition Award to Gary Grossman, publisher of The Daily Item, for the newspaper’s excellent coverage and support of PASR activities. PASR is an organization whose membership includes teachers, administrators, counselors, nurses, secretaries, aides, bus drivers, cafeteria workers, and maintenance staff — in short, anyone who is now receiving a pension from the Pennsylvania School Employees Retirement System (PSERS).
