MILTON — The Milton Lions Club hosted the club’s applicants and winners of the 2012-2013 Lions International Peace Poster Contest at its Dec. 11 meeting. Each year, Lions clubs around the world sponsor the Peace Poster contest to encourage young people worldwide to express their visions of peace. This year the theme was “Imagine Peace”. For 25 years, more than four million young people, ages 11-13, from nearly 100 counties, have participated in the contest. Locally, Cindy Krebs, Milton Middle School art teacher, supervises the contest, assisted by Nancy Walters from the Club. First place winner was Meagan Snyder; second place winner was Hope Harrington; and third place winner was Samantha Marvin. Meagan Snyder’s entry was the second place winner in the District 14G contest.
