TREVORTON — The Line Mountain elementary schools collected money for three weeks for the Pennies for Patients fund. This program is from The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society. The money that is collected is used to cure leukemia, lymphoma, Hodgkin’s disease and myeloma and to improve the quality of life for patients and their families. Some schools held contests to raise money. Trevorton Elementary held a scarecrow contest for Halloween. Each homeroom made a scarecrow and students and staff voted for the best one. Other contests included “Best scenic picture” and a “Vote for your favorite mask”.
The elementary schools collected over $3,266. The Mid Penn Bank in Dalmatia took all the coins and changed them into bills and wrote one large check for us for no charge.
