LEWISBURG — The Union County Historical Society, recognized as the official county historical society in 1963, is sponsoring a contest to create a new symbol and logo for the Historical Society.
The contest is open to any resident of Union County or anyone attending school in Union County. The winner will receive $100. All entries will become the property of the Union County Historical Society.
No more than three entries may be submitted by an entrant. The logo should not exceed 5 inches by 7 inches and may be oriented horizontally, vertically or be square. All submitted work must be original and not based on a pre-existing design.
Two versions of the design should be submitted—one in black and white and one in color. There are two methods for submitting a logo design:
- Digital entries must be submitted as a vector graphic in .eps format and also as a .jpeg or high resolution .pdf and should be e-mailed to the Union County Historical Society at firstname.lastname@example.org. The e-mail must include the name, address, phone number, and age of the entrant.
- Entries also may be by submitted on 8 ½”x 11” white paper or art board. Any medium can be used. Hard copy designs should be sent to the Union County Historical Society at the Union County Courthouse, 103 South Second Street, Lewisburg, PA 17837 and include the name, address, phone number, and age of the entrant.
Designs or logos must have the ability to be easily reproduced on letterheads, brochures, posters, and online.
The deadline for entries is April 15. Entrants will be notified of the result by the Union County Historical Society, and winners will be announced in May.
