WILLIAMSPORT — Lycoming College will host two events about community supported agriculture presented by Lara Judson of Walnut Run Farms in Nippenose Valley.
Community supported agriculture is an arrangement between a farmer and the customer. The customer buys part of the farmer’s harvest in advance and receives their share as the crops become available. CSA allows the farmer to grow the right amount of crops needed for the season and for the customer to receive the freshest produce possible.
The events will be held at 7:30 p.m. Feb. 26, and 1 p.m. March 25, in Heim Building G-09. Both events are open to the public. Reservations are required and may be made by contacting Amy Dowling, director of alumni relations, at 321-4134 or via email at dowling@lycoming.edu.
Walnut Run Farm is a multi-generational family farm that raises about 40 different vegetable and herb crops, as well as cut flowers and lamb.
