WILLIAMSPORT — Workforce Development & Continuing Education at Pennsylvania College of Technology will present the first series in its Operational Leader Program beginning Feb. 7.
Operational leaders are responsible for the day-to-day operation of a function within an organization, as well as helping to develop, communicate and implement strategic plans within their specific function.
Each series in the noncredit Operational Leader Program consists of three half-days of training. Series I includes Leading in Turbulent Times: An Introduction to Operational Leadership, Building Emotional Intelligence Through the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator, and Building and Implementing Internal and External Communication Strategies.
Each session in the series is four hours long and will be offered Feb. 7, Feb. 14 and Feb. 21. The series need not be taken in any particular sequence, and participants may continue with Series II and III later this year. The sessions are held at the Center for Business & Workforce Development on the college’s main campus in Williamsport.
Instructor Eric Bergstrom is an experienced leader of organization development, human resource management and manufacturing/operations management. Bergstrom has more than 20 years of industry experience and holds a Bachelor of Science and Master of Education in training and development, as well as a doctorate in workforce education and development from The Pennsylvania State University.
