DANVILLE — Kay Derr, of Danville, recently donated 15 hand-made dog sweaters to Haven to Home. Some will be used for dogs in foster homes, others will be sold as a fundraiser. Kay is a listener of Danville radio station WPGM at 96.7FM. After hearing WPGM’s feature “Your New Best Friend” each week, Kay wanted to do something to help the dogs. As an avid crocheter with her own blog site, www.bloomingstitchery.blogspot.com, she made a variety of dog sweaters in various colors, styles, and sizes.
Each week, WPGM highlights an adoptable dog from Haven to Home both on the air and on their website, wpgmfm.org. Retiring general manager George Vacca has done this feature for nearly two years.
