For 40 years, the American Cancer Society has marked the beginning of spring with Daffodil Days®, taking place March 18-24. The Society is looking for and in desperate need of volunteers to assist in the packing, delivering, and selling of flowers. If you are interested in helping in the fight against cancer, ontact the American Cancer Society at 884-1027.
Receive a bunch of flowers for a donation of $10, box of 50 bunches for $500, or a half box of 25 bunches for $250. This year also marks the addition of Ray O. Hope, the ninth in a special Boyds™ Bear collection designed exclusively for the American Cancer Society Daffodil Days Bear and a Bunch™ that can be ordered for a donation of $25. A vase and a bunch offering is available for $15 and potted mini daffodils are available for $12. Also, you can help give comfort to a child in need in your community by delivering an anonymous Boyds Bear to them with a donation of $25 to Project Care. In addition, Gift of Hope offers a chance to deliver an anonymous bunch of daffodils and cancer information to a local cancer patient with a donation of $25 or more.
Central Susquehanna and Columbia County residents have until Feb. 20 to place orders for daffodils.
