MIDDLEBURG — The Snyder County Conservation District, along with AgChoice Farm Credit, Mifflinburg Bank & Trust, Valley Ag & Turf, TeamAg, KeystoneGroup Agricultural Seeds and Susquehanna Valley Veterinary, will host a farmer’s winter meeting on Feb. 15 at Christ Community United Methodist Church, 3939 Park Road near Selinsgrove. Doors open at 8:30 a.m. and the meeting is from 9 a.m. to 3:15 p.m.
Pesticide, Manure Hauler/Broker and Nutrient Management Credits are scheduled to be given from the Pennsylvania Department of Agriculture. Topics include: “What Must I Do to Make DEP Happy?,” soil health and making soil a partner on your farm, pesticide handling safety and databases, emerging farm pest problems, crop & farm insurance, agricultural energy and USDA programs.
Lunch will be provided at $5 per person. Pay at the door. Call 837-3000 for reservations at the Conservation District Office (sccd@ptd.net) by Feb. 1. If assistance to participate is required, contact the Conservation District by Feb. 1, for coordination.
