DANVILLE — At its December meeting, Sigma Chapter of Delta Kappa Gamma (DKG) Society International welcomed Alpha Alpha State President, Louann Shrader from Omega Chapter as its honored guest and program presenter. Her presentation, “Forward Moving Ever” addressed DKG’s future by drawing on its rich past and highlighting the changes and the importance of taking risks to strengthen the society. Ann Nowaskie, president of Sigma Chapter conducted the business meeting. To celebrate the season, program co-chairs Dawn McManus and Linda Shupp organized a “Dirty Santa” gift exchange for members to enjoy. The December meeting was held at the Pine Barn Inn in Danville and was hosted by the Shamokin/Mount Carmel call group. The hostess committee included Mary Anne Miller who served as chair and Sandra Kessler.
DKG is an organization of key women educators with about 100,000 members in 18 countries. Sigma’s membership represents educators from Columbia, Montour, Northumberland, Snyder, and Union counties of Pennsylvania.
