BEAVER SPRINGS — The third grade students at West Snyder Elementary School will soon be word scholars. The West Snyder Rotary Club presented a dictionary to all third graders in the Midd-West School District as part of their promotion of literacy. This worthwhile service project has turned into an annual event. Mary Lee Troup, representing the West Snyder Rotary Club, distributed dictionaries to West Snyder Elementary third grade students to promote literacy.
West Snyder principal Mr. Harrison discussed various ways that the dictionaries can be used. Skylar Walter said that she will use her dictionary “to find the definitions of words.” Jordon Keister pointed out the section on the planets in his dictionary.
Shortly after receiving the dictionaries, the students were eagerly looking up new words.
