MIDDLEBURG — Stacey L. Zerbe will seek the Republican nomination for Snyder County Register of Wills and Recorder of Deeds for a second four-year term in the May 21 primary election.
Zerbe has been the Register of Wills and Recorder of Deeds since 2008, and started working in the office as a clerk in 1984. She has more than 28 years experience on the job.
Zerbe is a lifelong resident of Snyder County and graduated from Middleburg High School in 1983. She is an active member of the Pennsylvania Recorder of Deeds Association and serves on various committees; she is the second vice president of the Pennsylvania Register of Wills and Clerk of Orphans Court Association, president of the Snyder County Council of Republican Women, and a Republican committeewoman for Franklin Township.
In making her announcement, Zerbe stated that she feels privileged to be able to serve the people of Snyder County and is thankful for the confidence and support that has been entrusted to her. She desires to continue serving the people of Snyder County with her dedication, experience, and knowledge.
As Register of Wills she has jurisdiction over the probate of wills and the granting of letters to personal representatives of estates. The office also serves as a collection agent for inheritance tax for the Pennsylvania Department of Revenue. The Recorder of Deeds office is responsible for recording, maintaining and providing accessibility to all documents related to the real estate records within Snyder County. The Recorder of Deeds office serves as a collection agent for realty transfer tax for Pennsylvania, local municipalities and school districts.
