LEWISBURG — Local author Marilyn Mumford will be reading from and signing copies of her new book Keeping Most of Our Marbles in Play at 6 p.m. Jan. 15 at The Public Library for Union County.
Keeping Most of Our Marbles in Play is a collection of primarily humorous essays challenging the notion of seniors “losing their marbles,” and offers, instead, a contrary vision that laughter shines the marbles, while strengthening the resolve to enjoy life.
Mumford, a professor emeritus in English at Bucknell University, received her Ph.D from Penn State. Her fiction, poetry and essays have appeared in The Healing Muse (Syracuse NY), SKIRT! (Charleston SC) and in The Post and Courier (Charleston SC).
Registration is required for this event, which will also feature a selection of wine and cheese. To register, call 523-1172 or visit the library at 255 Reitz Boulevard, Lewisburg.
