Thomas A. Hepner Sr., 72, Sunbury

SUNBURY — Thomas A. Hepner Sr., 72, of Sunbury, went to be with the Lord on Monday, Feb. 25, 2013, at Geisinger Medical Center, Danville.

He was born Oct. 31, 1940, in Sunbury, a son of the late Wilburd A. and Betty Louise (Snyder) Hepner. On Nov. 3, 2012, he married the former Cynthia K. Klock, who survives.

Tom was a graduate of Sunbury High School.

He had been employed for 37 years by Mary MacIntosh, retiring in 1993 as plant manager. He then went to work as a manager for Unimart Stores for 10 years.

Tom was a member of Catawissa Avenue United Methodist Church, Sunbury.

He enjoyed spending time with his dog, Angel, and was a Phillies and Redskins fan. He really enjoyed working on projects with his family and remodeling his sons’ homes.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, Dr. Thomas A. Jr. and Mary L. Hepner, of Northumberland, and Dr. Mark L. and Tracey L. Hepner, of Shamokin Dam; grandchildren, Andrew Hepner, of Lancaster, Kelsie Hepner, of Northumberland, Paige Hepner and Leah Hepner; one brother and sister-in-law, Buddy L. and Ruth L. Hepner, of Sunbury; one stepson, Nathan A. Brosious and his wife, Tracei N., of Montgomery Village, Md.; and many nieces and nephews.

Friends will be received from 9:30 to 10:55 a.m. Saturday at Catawissa Avenue United Methodist Church, Sunbury, followed by the funeral at 11 with the Rev. Greg Milinovich officiating.

Interment will follow in Northumberland Memorial Park, Stonington.

In lieu of flowers, contributions in Tom’s memory may be made to Mostly Mutts, 284 Little Mountain Road, Sunbury, PA 17801, or to the animal shelter of the donor’s choice.

Arrangements are by the David T. Zweier Funeral Home, 157 Chestnut St., Sunbury.
