Jean E. Romberger, 88, Klingerstown

KLINGERSTOWN — Jean E. Romberger, 88, of Klingerstown, passed away peacefully on Sunday, Feb. 3, 2013, at the Friendly Nursing Home in Pitman.           

She was born Oct. 31, 1924, in Klingerstown, a daughter of the late Charles and Carrie (Oxenrider) Smith. She was married to Quentin Romberger who passed away in 1991.

Jean was first employed as a factory worker for Western Electric in Baltimore and retired in 1985 from the Pillow Shirt factory where she had worked for many years.      

She was a member of St. Michael’s Lutheran Church in Klingerstown.  

Jean enjoyed reading, watching TV, sewing and planting flowers in her younger years.

She is survived by two daughters, Diane Gallagher, of Bloomsburg, and Donna Romberger, of Klingerstown; four grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.         

She was preceded in death by one sister, Dorothy Klinger

A viewing will be held from 10 to 11 a.m. Wednesday at St. Michael’s Lutheran Church, Klingerstown, where the funeral will follow at 11 with the Rev. Jonathan Jenkins officiating.  

Interment will follow in St. Michael’s Cemetery.
