Harold S. Troup, 88, Mifflinburg

MIFFLINBURG — Harold S. Troup, 88, of 299 Raven Lane, entered into rest at 2:55 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 2, 2013, at Kramm Healthcare and Rehabilitation, Milton.

He was born July 18, 1924, in Mifflinburg, a son of the late Benjamin F. and Lillian (Stetler) Troup.  

Harold served in the Army from Feb. 24, 1943 until his honorable discharge on Oct.19, 1945. He was honored with a Purple Heart, EAME Theater Service Ribbon with four bronze star medals, and the Good Conduct medal.

He was employed as a truck driver for H. H. Folmer and American Home Foods, Milton, for 38 years.

Harold was a member of the Mifflinburg American Legion Post 410.

He loved spending time with his dog, “Tiny”.

Surviving are two sons and one daughter-in-law, Russell E. and Susan Troup, of Mifflinburg, and Marlin A. Troup and his fiance’ Amy, of Lewisburg; one brother and sister-in-law, Marlin A. “Speed” and Helen Troup, of Mifflinburg; two sisters, Geneva Chambers, of Lewisburg, and Ruth Zimmerman, of Mifflinburg; three grandchidlren, Tina and her husband, William Moran, Kevin Troup and his companion, Janelle, and Jennifer Troup and her companion, Charles; and eight great-grandchildren, Jarett, Taylor, Morgan, Paige, Kindell, Billie Gene, Gianna, and Charlie.

He was preceded in death by numerous brothers and sisters.

Funeral services will be private and conducted at the convenience of the family.

Funeral arrangements are by Roupp Funeral Home, Inc., 8594 Old Turnpike Road, Mifflinburg.
