Matthew E. Lannan, 33, Liverpool

LIVERPOOL — Matthew E. Lannan, 33, of Liverpool, passed away suddenly on Wednesday, Jan. 23, 2013, in the Holy Spirit Hospital, Camp Hill.

He was born June 12, 1979, in Lock Haven, a son of Robert and Ruth (Mark) Lannan, of Flemington. He was married to the former Cortney R. Pontius who survives.

Matt was a graduate of Lock Haven High School and received an associates degree in forestry from Penn State University.

He was employed by Bankers Life and Casualty and a former employee of Tuscarora Hardwoods, Inc., Elliottsburg.

He was a member of the North American Fishing Club.

Matt was an avid hunter and fisherman.

In addition to his wife and parents, he is survived by five children, Adrianna M., Lane E., Gabriel P., Hannah R., and Jocelyn H., all at home; one brother, Mark Lannan, of Pittsburgh; one aunt, Eileen Yothers, of Carlisle; and one uncle, Kenneth Lannan, of Mill Hall.

A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 9, in the New Hope United Church of Christ, 108 S. Carlisle St., Landisburg, with the Rev. Joshua D. Craley officiating. Fellowship with the family will follow the service.  

Another memorial service will be held 1 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 16, in the Salona United Methodist Church, 624 Long Run Road, Mill Hall, with the Rev. Frank Hartzel officiating.

In lieu of flowers, the family ask that memorial contributions be made to Cortney R. Lannan, c/o Children’s Memorial Fund, c/o Bank of Landisburg, P.O. Box 179, Landisburg, PA 17040.

Arrangements are being handled by the Nickel Funeral Home, P.O. Box 910, Loysville.
