Sarah I. Trego, 91, Lewistown

LEWISTOWN — Sarah I. Trego, 91, of Lewistown, passed away at 8:15 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 20, 2013, at Ohesson Manor.

She was born Aug. 30, 1921, in Lewistown, a daughter of the late Charles E. and Jennie E. (Smith) Knepp. She was married to Samuel A. Trego, who preceded her in death on Sept. 5, 1993.

Sarah retired as a cafeteria worker from the Mifflin County School District in 1984 and before that was employed at American Viscose Corp.

She was a member of St. John’s Evangelical Lutheran Church, the Augsburg Sunday school class, the Pensioner’s Club, the Act II Club and the Lewistown Moose Lodge, and she was very active at Ohesson, belonging to the hand bell choir and the Red Hat Society.

She is survived by two sons, Stanley E. Trego and wife Sara, of Lewistown, and Bruce E. Trego and companion Sandra Beeman, of Mifflintown; four grandchildren, Sara Beth, Roberta, Susan and Justin Trego; and two great-granddaughters.

She was preceded in death by two brothers and three sisters.

A memorial service will be held at 3 p.m. Saturday in St. John’s Evangelical Lutheran Church, North Main Street, Lewistown, with the Rev. Gary Roth officiating.

In lieu of flowers, contributions in Sarah’s memory may be made to Lewistown Home Health and Hospice: The Bridge, 305 Fourth St., Pleasant Acres, Lewistown, PA 17044.
