CARLISLE — John Joseph Necci Sr., 91, a resident of Church of God Home, died Friday, Jan. 11, 2013, in the home.
He was born Oct. 23, 1921, in Milton, the son of the late Angelo D. and Miriam (Meckley) Necci and the widower of Rajean Thomas Necci.
Mr. Necci was the former owner and operator of Johnny’s Barber Shop in Milton. He was a fourth degree Knight in the Knights of Columbus. John sponsored bowling teams and was an avid fisherman and golfer. He was an Army veteran serving in World War II in the Philippines.
Surviving are his daughter, Carol Straub and her husband Dennis, of Carlisle; three grandchildren, Wendy Straub, of Camp Hill, Michael Straub and his wife Jackie, and Irwin and Andrea Leitzel, all of Lykens; seven great-grandchildren, Mitchell, Margaret, Elizabeth, Seth, John, Sarah and Aryca; two sisters, Theresa Thomas and her husband Kay Eugene, of York and Virginia Botto, of Manassas, Va.; one daughter-in-law, Lynn Necci, of Sunbury, and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by one daughter, Kay Louise; one son, John Joseph Necci Jr.; one grandson, Eric Necci, two brothers and two sisters.
A time of visitation will be held from 2:30 to 3:30 p.m. Friday, Jan. 25 at the Church of God Home, 801 N. Hanover St., Carlisle, followed by a memorial service at 3:30 p.m. with the Rev. Bradley C. Morre officiating.
Burial will be private and at the convenience of the family in the St. Joseph Catholic Church Cemetery, Milton.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made in memory of John to the Forever Caring Fund, c/o Church of God Home, 801 N. Hanover St. Carlisle, PA 17013.
