NORTHUMBERLAND — Helen M. Specht , 93, of Northumberland, passed away Thursday, Dec. 6, 2012, in the Manor Care, Sunbury.
She was born in Dorsife on May 30, 1919, a daughter of the late Daniel and Rosie (Hoffman) Kahler. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Elwood Wiest, in 1964 and by her second husband, Sidney Specht, in 2005.
Helen was a member of Christ Wesleyan Church.
She loved gardening, camping, cooking and attending her church.
She is survived by her four children and their spouses, James and Madeline Wiest, of West Cameron, Bob Wiest, of Sunbury, Ruth Dawson, of Shortsville, N.Y. and Deborah and Pat McClain, of Selinsgrove. Also surviving are 11 grandchildren; two stepgrandchildren; numerous great grandchildren; and neices and nephews.
She was preceded in death by one daughter, Shirley Miller, in 2004; five brothers, Benjamin, Howard, Claude, Robert and Harry; and by four sisters, Jennie Carl, Mary Drumheller, Emma Adams and Nora Feger.
A viewing will be held from 10 to 11 a.m. Monday at the Jerre Wirt Blank Funeral Home, 395 State St., Sunbury, followed by the funeral at 11 a.m.
Burial will be in the Northumberland Memorial Park, Stonington
