SELINSGROVE — Rickie L. Ulrich, 53, of 611 N. Orange St., went to be with his Lord and Savior at 5:40 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 22, 2012, in the emergency room at Evangelical Community Hospital, Lewisburg. His unexpected passing was due to a massive heart attack.
He was born Feb. 13, 1959, in Danville, a son of Arlene (Berkheimer) Ulrich, of Danville, and the late George F. Ulrich. On April 7, 1984, he married the former Martha Jean Culp who survives.
Rickie was a 1978 graduate of Danville High School. He had been employed at Ritz Craft, Penn Lyon Homes, Playworld, Don Cotner Farms, and for the past 16 years, at Wood-Mode in Kreamer.
He was an active member of the New Hope Bible Church in Mifflinburg, a life member of the Kreamer Sportsman’s Club. He was active in scouting and had been the assistant scout leader for Boy Scout Troop 441 and a vigil member of the Order of the Arrow. He also coached softball and was an avid hunter, fisherman and enjoyed camping. He loved sports, especially Selinsgrove High School sports and was a fan of the Phillies and Steelers.
He was an awesome grandfather.
Surviving in addition to his wife and mother are one son and daughter-in-law, Matthew and Lera Ulrich, of Danville; one daughter, Mirinda Hoyles and her boyfriend, Brett Gold, of Selinsgrove; grandchildren, Mackenzie, Aubrei, and Lilli Hoyles; his mother-in-law, Jeanette Culp; sisters, Brenda Swisher and her husband Joe, and Beth Temple; brothers, Tim Ulrich, Todd Ulrich and wife Pam, Keith Ulrich and wife Jen, and Mark Ulrich and his wife Sharon; 17 nieces and nephews and one great-nephew; sisters-in-law, Jessie Sheppard and Mary Paulhamus; and numerous other family members including a special cousin, Dennis Berkheimer and his wife Brenda.
Friends and family will be received from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday and from 10 to 11 a.m. Wednesday at the V.L. Seebold Funeral Home, 601 N. High St., Selinsgrove, followed by the funeral at 11 with Pastor Dick Voneida officiating.
Burial will be in Glendale Cemetery, Middleburg.
