MIDDLEBURG — Robert T. “Bob” Shaffer, 76, formerly of Westfield Terrace, passed away at 2:55 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 18, 2012, at the Manor at Penn Village, Selinsgrove.
He was born Nov. 15, 1936, in Bellefonte, a son of the late Harry and Elizabeth (Grove) Shaffer.
He had been employed by SunCom Industries, the Middleburg Silk Mill, and retired from the custodial staff of the Middleburg High School.
He was a member of Emmanuel Lutheran Church, Middleburg, and the Reliance Hose Company, Middleburg.
He enjoyed his birds, his cat and tinkering with his scooters.
He is survived by his son, Jimmy Knepp, of Albion; three brothers, Steven Shaffer, Timothy Golding, and Gaylor Wilson; and one sister, Kathy Godissart; nieces and nephews, including a special niece, Sandy Linn; and caring friends, the Paul Hood family and the Ron Stephens family.
He was preceded in death by one brother, Clarence Schaffer, and two sisters, Mary Arnold and Betty Lang.
Friends and family will be received from 1 to 2 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 1, at the Hummel Funeral Home, 574 Hill St., Middleburg, followed by a memorial service at 2 with the Rev. William D. Jones, officiating.
Burial will be in Glendale Cemetery, Middleburg.
