SUNBURY — George K. Keener, 72, of 430 Wolverton Road passed away Thursday, Nov. 15, 2012, at his residence. He was born Nov. 22, 1939, in Danville, a son of the late George and Anna (Greely) Keener.
He attended Danville High School.
He served in the United States Navy.
He was a member of Faith Chapel in Danville and the American Legion, Danville.
In earlier years, Mr. Keener was employed by KVS in Danville.
He enjoyed fishing and reading Proverbs.
He loved to attend auctions, especially livestock auctions. He entered rabbits each year at the Bloomsburg Fair.
In earlier years, he enjoyed motorcycle riding.
Surviving are three daughters and two sons-in-law, Saundra Swank of Catawissa, Diane and Glenn Riegel, of Bloomsburg, and Angela and David Mirarchi, of Greensboro, N.C.; four grandchildren, Ryan, Kaelah, Zach and Madelyn; two brothers, John Barry English, of Danville and Charles Gary English, of Riverside; three sisters and brothers-in-law, Saundra L. and Barrie Grozier, of Vestal, N.Y., Kathleen A. and Jim Creasy, of Danville and Sarah L. and Harry Wertman, of Buckhorn .
Friends will be received from 10:30 to noon Tuesday at Faith Chapel, 2351 Snydertown Road, Danville, followed by the funeral at noon with Pastor Bill Renno officiating.
Burial with military rites will follow in Northumberland Memorial Park, Stonington.
