NORTHUMBERLAND — Laura L. Bollinger, 73, of 154 Hanover St., passed away Thursday, Nov. 8, 2012, in the Geisinger Medical Center, Danville.
She was born in Sunbury on Oct. 6, 1939, a daughter of the late Byron and Mary (Holdren) Mertz. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ronald Bollinger, on Aug. 14, 1989.
Laura was employed as a registered nurse by Health South at the Geisinger Medical Center, Danville.
She was a member of St. Mark’s Episcopal Church, Northumberland.
She enjoyed attending her grandchildren’s school and sporting events. She also enjoyed gardening, crossword puzzles, watching Days of Our Lives, and spending time with her dog, Lucy, and cats, Lily and Olivia.
Surviving are four children, Cynthia L. Folk and husband Norman, of Northumberland, Ronald R. Bollinger and wife Tammy, of Mifflinburg, Michael A. Bollinger and wife Sheila, of Massachusetts, and Jennifer S. Sharp and husband Scott, of Middleburg; 18 grandchildren, one great-grandchild; and four siblings, Byron “Bud” Mertz, of Northumberland, Carol Hackenberg, of Sunbury, Mary Long, of Boalsburg, and David Mertz, of Paxinos.
She was preceded in death by one brother, Thomas.
A time of visitation will be held from 10 to 11 a.m. Monday, followed by a memorial service at 11 at St. Mark’s Episcopal Church, Northumberland.
Interment will be in the Mifflinburg Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Laura’s memory can be made to the American Cancer Society, 1948 E. Third St., Williamsport, PA 17701.
Arrangements are being handled by the Jerre Wirt Blank Funeral Home, 309 Water St., Northumberland.
