SUNBURY — George M. Marks, 63, of Sunbury, passed away in his home Friday, Nov. 2, 2012.
He was born in Lewisburg on Aug. 20, 1943, a son of the late Ralph N. and Catherine E.(Hauck) Marks. On Sept. 3, 1972, he married the former Joni D. Thomas, who survives.
George graduated from Shikellamy High School in 1967 and served his country in the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam War on the USS Saratoga.
He worked for Furman’s Foods Inc. for more than 40 years.
He was a member of the Central Mountain ATV Assoc. Inc., Kelly Run Rod and Gun Club; Americus Hose Company; and the Northumberland #1 Fire Company.
He enjoyed hunting and riding ATV’s.
He loved his cats, Molly and Zoey.
Surviving, in addition to his wife, are one son and daughter-in-law, Christopher G. and Jennifer Marks, of Northumberland; one granddaughter; one grandson; two brothers, Robert Marks, of Sunbury and Elmer Marks, of Florida; and two nephews, Noah and Carter.
Friends may call from 9 to 10:45 a.m. Tuesday at the David T. Zweier Funeral Home Inc., 157 Chestnut St., Sunbury, followed by the funeral at 11 with the Rev. Glen B. Keidel Jr. of VNA Health Services, Shamokin, officiating.
Burial will be in Northumberland Memorial Park, Stonington.
