SELINSGROVE — Donald E. Nace, 62, of 81 Jefferson Ave., went home to heaven on Wednesday, Nov. 14, 2012, at his home.
He was born June 15, 1950, in Lewisburg, one of a set of twins born to the late Charles A. and Jennie E. (Kuhns) Nace. On Aug. 29, 1975, he married the former Diane M. Arndt who survives. Together they celebrated 37 years of marriage.
Donald was a 1969 graduate of Selinsgrove High School. He was a veteran of the Army having served in Korea during the Vietnam War.
Donald retired from API, Paxtonville, where he worked in the carpenter shop.
He was a member of Zion’s Church of Kratzerville, where he served on the consistory and sang in the choir.
Living a vintage lifestyle, Donald enjoyed gardening, wine making, playing the banjo and harmonica and raising chickens. He was an avid train collector and model builder. Donald loved spending time with his family and friends, especially his granddaughters.
Surviving in addition to his wife are one son, Jeremy A. Nace, of Beavertown; one daughter and son-in-law, Rebekah E. and Kyle Golla, of Lewisburg; two granddaughters, LilyGrace and Kanyan Golla; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Jay and Dot Nace, of Selinsgrove and Robert and Kay Nace, of Allenwood; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Bertha “Sis” and Harry Kemberling and Donald’s twin, Donna “June” and Roger Catherman, all of Selinsgrove; one brother-in-law, Marlin Kratzer, of Middleburg; one brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Guy Arndt and Darlene Ramsey, of Augusta, W.Va.; a mother-in-law, Lillian Arndt, of Shamokin Dam; a grandpuppy, Charlie; and numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.
He was predeceased by one sister, Mary Kratzer, and one brother-in-law, Carson Brouse.
Friends will be received from 6 to 9 p.m. Saturday at the V.L. Seebold Funeral Home, 601 N. High St. Selinsgrove and from 1 to 2 p.m. Sunday at Zion’s Church of Kratzerville, 4106 Rt. 204, Kratzerville, where a funeral will be held at 2, with his pastor, Dr. John W. Radke, officiating. Full military honors will be performed following the service.
The family will provide the flowers, however, if desired contributions in Donald’s honor may be made to Zion’s Church of Kratzerville, Memorial Fund, 4106 Route 204, Kratzerville, PA 17870.
