McCLURE — Ruth E. McKim, 87, of Hummingbird Lane, passed away on Thursday, Feb. 14, 2013, at Lewistown Hospital.
She was born on Aug. 14, 1925, in Lancaster, a daughter of the late Charles R. and Emma (Landis) Hartenstine. She was married to Raymond M. Miller, who preceded her in death in 1984. On April 5, 2003, she married Samuel R. McKim, who survives.
Ruth attended Lancaster area schools.
She was formerly employed at Enterprise Telephone in Leola as a telephone operator.
Mrs. McKim attended the Bunkertown Church of the Brethren.
She enjoyed volunteering at the county library, scrapbooking and also gardening.
Surviving in addition to her husband are two daughters and one son-in-law, Margaret R. Reich, of Terre Hill and Sandra M. and James Stroup, of Milroy; one son, Carl R. Miller, of McClure; seven grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; two brothers and one sister-in-law, Lloyd Hartenstine, of Lititz and Harold and Hazel Hartenstine, of Lancaster; and one sister, Marion Lugo, of Fredericksburg, Va.
She was preceded in death, in addition to her parents and first husband, by one son, George E. Miller.
Friend and family will be received from 10 to 11a.m. on Monday at the Pheasant Funeral Home, 316 W. Market St., Beavertown where the funeral will follow at 11 a.m. with Pastor Gregory L. Jones officiating.
Burial will follow in the Troxelville Union Cemetery.
