Emma R. Wolfe, 88, Northumberland

NORTHUMBERLAND — Emma R. Wolfe, 88, of Northumberland, passed away peacefully on Friday, March 15, 2013, at Nottingham Village, Northumberland.

She was born Jan. 4, 1925, in Pillow, a daughter of the late Jennifer (Boyer) Witmer and Joseph Witmer. She was married to Thomas F. Wolfe, who preceded her in death in 1973.

Emma was employed as a seamstress for Puritan Fashions, Millersburg.

She was a member of Zion Church, Herndon, the American Legion Auxiliary and the Dalmatia Ambulance League.

Emma is survived by one son, Thomas Wolfe, of Mechanicsburg; one daughter, Judith Steese, of Northumberland; one brother, John Witmer, of Millersburg; and one sister, Naomi Stahl, of Millersburg.

She was preceded in death by four sisters, Pauline Wright, Katherine Romberger, Esther Zerbe and Mary Kolva.

Visitors may call from 10 to 11 a.m. Friday at the James A. Reed Funeral Home, Pillow, followed by the funeral at 11 with the Rev. Richard Sweppenhiser officiating.

Burial will be in Herndon Cemetery, Herndon.
