Jackie O. Dunbar, 76, Beavertown

BEAVERTOWN — Jackie O. Dunbar, 76, of Quarry Road, passed away on Monday, Oct. 29, 2012, at Geisinger Medical Center, Danville.

He was born May 21, 1936, in Clear Creek, W.Va., a son of the late Clina and Gertrude (Conkle) Dunbar. He was married to the former Edan Bobb, who preceded him in death in 2000, and later married Nancy B. Bury, who survives.

Jackie attended school in Clear Fork, W.Va.

He had been employed by the Bucks County School District.

He was a member of Assembly of God Church, Mifflinburg, and was a very active member of the senior center in Beaver Springs.

Jackie enjoyed hunting, bee keeping, gardening and his dogs.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by two brothers and sisters-in-law, Carl and Helga Dunbar, of Maine, and Jim and Glenna Dunbar, of West Virginia; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by one sister, Iris Ann Dunbar.

Friends and family will be received from 10 to 11 a.m. Thursday at Assembly of God Church, 1001 Market St., Mifflinburg, where the funeral will follow at 11 with Pastor Johnny Blake officiating.

Burial will follow in Cedar Hill Cemetery, Beavertown.

Contributions in Jackie’s memory may be made to the Beaver Springs Senior Center, 5 Elm St., Beaver Springs, PA 17812.

Arrangements are by the Pheasant Funeral Home, 316 W. Market St., Beavertown.
