MIDDLEBURG — Keamer E. Straub Jr., 84, of Route 522, passed away at 1:33 p.m. Friday, Oct. 26, 2012, at Evangelical Community Hospital, Lewisburg.
He was born Aug. 3, 1928, in Beaver Township, Snyder County, a son of the late Keamer U.W. and Mary S. (Kuhns) Straub. On May 28, 1949, he married the former Geraldine C. Kline who survives.
Earlier in his life Keamer drove truck for David Kuhns and T.W. Erdley. He later worked for Beavertown Block, Ben H. Walter Farm Equipment and retired from Wood Mode in Kreamer. He also worked at Penn Lutheran Village, Selinsgrove, Saylor’s Market, Beaver Springs, and Tractor Supply.
He was a member of Hassinger’s White Lutheran Church, Middleburg, and the Rescue Hose Company, Beavertown.
Keamer enjoyed gardening and raising flowers.He was very gifted mechanically and was always helping others. Keamer’s dogs and cats were very special to him.
In addition to his wife of 63 years, he is survived by three sons and one daughter-in-law, Eugene K. and Miriam Straub, of Paxtonville, Gary L. and Barry L. Straub, both of Middleburg; three grandchildren and their spouses, Crystal and David Kerstetter, Brian and Kim Straub and Joseph and Jenn Straub; five great-grandchildren, Aaron and Brittany Kerstetter, Ty, Lexi and Emma Straub; two brothers , Marvin Straub and companion Vicki, of Middleburg, and Lewis and Judy Straub, of Paxtonville; and one sister and brother-in-law, Linda and William Hassinger, of Kissimmee.
He was preceded in death by one brother, Kenneth Straub.
Friends and family will be received from 1 to 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Hummel Funeral Home, 574 Hill St., Middleburg, followed by the funeral at 2.
Burial will be follow in the Hassinger’s White Lutheran Church Cemetery.
