LEWISBURG — Beverly K. Fisher, 88, a resident of RiverWoods and formerly of 235 S. 12th St., Lewisburg, went to be with the Lord on Saturday, Nov. 10, 2012.
She was born Feb. 7, 1924, in Milton, the daughter of the late Stanford Kunkle and Florence Perry.
Beverly graduated from Milton High School in 1942 and received a secretarial appointment at ACF Industries. There she met and married Samuel Fisher in 1947, and they lived together in Milton before relocating to Lewisburg in 1960. They were married for 30 years before his passing.
Beverly retired in 1989 as a librarian assistant from Lewisburg Area High School. She was passionate about making a difference in the lives of students and enjoyed chaperoning German club members in their annual trips to Europe.
Beverly was an active member of First Baptist Church, of Lewisburg, Daughters of the American Revolution, Milton, and Lewisburg Bridge Clubs.
Her first love was gardening, and she enjoyed sharing her flower gardens with the neighbors. She loved to travel and took many trips to Europe and across the United States in her lifetime.
Beverly is survived by a son, Craig Fisher, of Lewiston, Idaho, daughter, Cherry Fisher-Bryan and her husband, Mac Bryan, of Warriors, Mark, and son, Keith and his wife, Susan, of Annapolis Md.; and two grandchildren, William and Jillian Fisher, of Annapolis.
She was preceded in death by her brother, Stanford Kunkle Jr.
A memorial service celebrating Beverly’s life will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday in First Baptist Church, 51 S. Third St.
In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting that donations be made to First Baptist Church, 51 S. Third St., Lewisburg, PA 17837.
Funeral arrangements are by the John H. Shaw III Funeral Home, Lewisburg.
