MILTON — Earl D. Emery, 89, of Milton, passed away on Tuesday, Nov. 6, 2012, at Kramm Health and Rehab Center, Milton.
He was born July 25, 1923, in Hartleton, a son of the late John L. and Mildred (Dorman) Emery. He was married to the former Helen “Sis” Diehl and the former Anne Sheltman whom preceded him in death.
Earl attended Milton schools and was a Navy veteran serving in World War II.
He worked as a welder and foreman at AC&F in Milton, retiring in 1983.
He was a member of St. Andrews United Methodist Church, a life member of the American Legion and the Moose, both in Milton.
Earl enjoyed riding motorcycle and was a member of the Susquehanna Motorcycle Club. He liked hunting, bowling and travelling in his motorhome.
He is survived by two sons, Larry D. Emery, of Milton and Donald L. Emery, of White Deer; one stepdaughter, Virginia Agler, of Florida; two stepsons, David Burns, of Milton and Charles Burns, of New Columbia; four grandchildren, Richard Emery, Judie Deitrick, Kelly Yarger, and Penny Johnston; six stepgrandchildren, Kimberly Moelly, Heather Agler, Melanie Brooks, Ashley Burns, Kristin Burns, and Lacey Burns; seven great-grandchildren; seven stepgreat-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
Earl was preceded in death by two brothers, Donald and Neil Emery, and one sister, Mildred Earhart.
Friends and relatives will be received from 11 a.m. to noon Tuesday at the Shaw Funeral Home, 400 N. Front St., Milton, followed by the funeral at noon, with the Rev. John Lee officiating.
Burial with military honors will be in the Harmony Cemetery, Milton.
