SELINSGROVE — William Raymond “Woody” Woodling, 79, of Selinsgrove, entered into eternal rest on Thursday, Oct. 25, 2012, at the Manor at Penn Village, Selinsgrove.
William was born on Nov. 16, 1932, in Port Trevorton, the son of the late Raymond A. and Aletha Esther (Ulsh) Woodling. He was the husband of the late Pauline Larue (Seitz) Woodling, who preceded him on July 16, 2003.
He attended Selinsgrove High School.
William served 23 1/2 years in the Air Force with duties in the Korean and Vietnam wars and also served 18 1/2 years with the Postal Service and 42 years with the U.S. Government. In his younger years, he worked for Henry Keller, of Port Trevorton. William enjoyed coaching Little League football and baseball. William also enjoyed boating and fishing. He was a life member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 6631, Selinsgrove, and a former member of Loyal Order of Moose Lodge 1173, Selinsgrove.
William is survived by his three children, Sonja N. Sfameni and her husband, Steve, of Londonderry, N.H., David W. Woodling and his wife, Marina, of Weston, Fla., and Robert L. Woodling and his wife, Lana, of Selinsgrove; five grandchildren, Jackie and Samantha, of Londonderry, Alyssa and Devin, of Weston, and Ashley, of Maryland; two sisters, Grace Ferry, of Liverpool, and Lillian Kerstetter, of Port Trevorton; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded by two sisters, Mary E. Smith and Sharon Hendricks.
There will be no viewing. Services and burial will be private at the discretion of the family.
The George P. Garman Funeral Homes Inc., 9366 Route 35, Mount Pleasant Mills, is assisting the family with the arrangements.
